Pesanggrahan Puskemas Medicine Warehouse Becomes Scavenger Shanties

A building as wide as 1,000 square meters on Jalan Palem VII, RT 01/08, Petukangan Utara Urban Village, Pesanggrahan Sub-District, South Jakarta, which supposed to be used as Pesanggrahan Community Health Center (Puskesmas) medicine warehouse, now becomes a place to store used goods. What is more ironic is that the building is ruled by another party.

The person who stayed here before was Suryanto Pasla (66), a security officer of the contractor that built the warehouse. He had made an affidavit to move in 2000, but he violated it and even rented the warehouse now

According to Suryono, his party has coordinated with the community health center officials to check the building. This matter also has been conveyed in a leaders meeting with South Jakarta Administration. “My staff had been there before, but he got threatened instead,” disclosed Suryono.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Tri Djoko, admitted about this problem. Unfortunately, his party has not received official request from South Jakarta Health Sub-Department to help clearing out the building. “It is easy to deploy Satpol PP personnel. Even if the residents who were asking, we’ll help. Particularly because the building used is government property,” he stated.

Responding this matter, Head of East Jakarta Health Sub-Department, Kurnianto Amien, stressed that he will immediately resolve it. “Indeed, the matter had been discussed in a meeting, but there is no continuation until now. One thing for sure is that we’ll follow up this matter in the near future,” he uttered.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations in the location, the building is located in the middle of scavenger shanties with 100-meter of road access towards it has yet asphalted. The condition of the building looks very slum because inside the land which surrounded by iron fence there are scavenger shanties and empty used bottles that have been pressed, piled up on the yard. The building’s wall and roof paints begin to exfoliate and the zinc roof is rusty. Suryanto was nowhere to be seen, there were only workers tiding up the used goods behind the warehouse.

“I’ve been working here for almost five years. Yes, I rented this place to Mr. Suryanto,” said a worker whose name refused to be mentioned.
